Our Garden 2014
Andrew built two 8 x 12 foot raised garden beds this year. We planted everything from tomatoes to broccoli and lots in between. We had major successes with most plants and some that never came to fruition. It was a great learning experience for all of us. The kids loved plucking the little red cherry tomatoes, even Amelia. We've enjoyed lots of fresh organic produce every week since June. The tomato plants grew as tall as my shoulders. Everything looks like a jungle right about now but that little garden is still producing! Can't wait until next spring to take what I've learned and create some even better, more bountiful beds.

Our Garden is Growing
Romas, cherries and goliath tomatoes plus string beans, peppers, and strawberries. We are so pleased with our little container garden! The boys love to see the progress. Things seem to pop out overnight! Can't wait until it all turns juicy red and we can fill a basket full.

Spring Has Sprung!
Spring is here, finally! We were waiting quite a while. The dreariness has lifted, the flowers are blooming, the world is becoming colorful again! Easter was fun... with egg dying and three (!) egg hunts, baskets and gifts (not pictured) from the Easter Bunny. Dad said, "Since when does the Easter Bunny bring wrapped gifts?". Umm, this year! The weather is getting warmer which means lots more time outdoors and windbreakers. No wonder this is Mommy's favorite season!

In Bloom
Our yard (front and back) in our new home needs TONS of work, most of which will require TONS of time. We have been doing lots of clean-up ever since we moved in last July. There is some progress if you look hard enough but the overall picture is still pretty glum.
I have been known to keep the curtains at the back of the house drawn so I don't have to see the yard. I keep reminding myself that it will take time. I need to be patient. Everyone who really knows me understands that I have little patience, except when it comes to parenting (thank God) but I am trying.
I am looking on the bright side this morning, as I witnessed little sprouts of green grass emerging where just two weeks ago there was none (good job, Andrew!). I spotted little bursts of color here and there too. Here's some color to brighten your day!
