Kindergarten Orientation Day!

On the bus for orientation (The only time they will take the bus in grade school. Since we live two blocks from the school, we will walk.)

Thanks to our friends, the Minty's, we were able to cross off a summer bucket list item that I thought just wasn't going to pan out this summer - camping!!

It was just one night (and a rainy/humid one at that) but lots of fun for Ben and Dan as their first real camping experience!

The tail end of August was busy, fitting in fun stuff while starting our organized sports and getting ready for school.

The carefree summer days are over as today is the first day of Kindergarten!  (I have been up since 4:30 am,  lots of emotions happening over here on Momma's part!)

Everyone around me seems to be missing summer (even though technically it's still summer until Sept. 22) but not me!  Bring on the fall!

Sweater weather, pumpkin everything (coffee - mmm...), crisp air.  YES please!

T-Ball 2013

This is the boys' first year playing T-Ball and they LOVE it!  Daddy has been practicing with them any chance he can in the yard.  We have had two games so far and they are really doing well and having fun!  Benjamin is number 1 and Daniel is number 2 on the Rockies.  Their coach is extremely nice and patient.They will play against some of their best buddies from school later in the season.  Even though their games are very early each Saturday, it's nice to get out in the spring air and sunshine. 

Spring Soccer

Ben and Dan started soccer three weeks ago.  These were their team shirts on day one...pink as pink can get. Luckily, they were switched to the green team once we arrived on the field.

I can't say that they love soccer but they are slowly warming up to it and each week they enjoy it a little bit more.

Dan did love being in goal, though.

 It's funny to watch them from the sidelines, dribbling their balls side by side.

Here they are listening to their coaches.  Every week Mom and Dad are nudging them on, giving our little bits of advice before the session starts....like to pay attention, just have fun, separate yourselves a bit from each other, dribble the ball fast like you do in our yard, etc. etc.  We probably should just hush up and let them absorb it all for themselves.   After all, they are only 4!!

I just love those tall soccer socks on them.  They are so cute.
