Seasonal Books

Here are some of the holiday/winter books in rotation these days:

The Polar Express. This is currently the boys' favorite. I love the realistic illustrations.

The Night Before Christmas. Can't wait to read this to them on Christmas Eve...that's when this story is truly magical.

Mortimer's Christmas Manger. This is a good way to explain the figurines inside of the manger.

Brownie Groundhog and the February Fox. This story is really about Groundhog's Day but we love the wintery pictures and descriptions especially when the two animal friends share bits of cinnamon toast dipped in hot cocoa!

Santa Mouse Stories. These are from the 60's and the illustrations are so adorable and now so vintage looking which makes this book my favorite. It is charming and sweet, and a good alternative to The Elf on the Shelf because you can leave certain little clues on Christmas morning that shows Santa Mouse was there!

The Biggest Snowball Ever. This is a funny story about playing in the snow on Christmas Eve.

Frosty the Snowman. This classic version just like the original cartoon is the best!

*Can't wait to get more at the library when I pay my fines (again....ugh)!
